2 Georgia Tech’s ADVANCE
$3.7 million grant from NSF for 5 years Currently in the second year Focus is on tenure-track women, specifically their promotion to senior and leadership positions in STEM Thrust is institutional transformation, since providing money for support of research of individuals has not increased the numbers of women as significantly or quickly as needed

3 ADVANCE Institutional Changes Proposed at Georgia Tech
A network of termed professorships established to mentor women faculty A formal tenure and promotion training process to insure equity and remove subtle gender, racial, and other biases A series of leadership retreats with women faculty and senior institutional leaders A series of family-friendly policies, including active service-modified duties process, stop the tenure clock, and a campus lactation center Data gathering and interviews to develop MIT-like Report to chart equity progress
