3 Fiscal Responsibility
At Black River, our goal is to provide our students with an excellent education while being fiscally responsible and transparent.

4 Renewal Levy In November of 2017, residents passed a renewal levy, which was not a new tax. It allows the district to maintain current levels of programs, services and staff. Thank you for your support!

5 Next Steps The Black River Local School District is committed to remaining financially stable and transparent with its finances.

6 Next Steps In 2019, the district will be able to pay off the bond for the Black River Education Center, which currently generates approximately $313,000 in order to pay for the building.

7 Next Steps To maintain fiscal stability, the district would like to find a way to maintain generating these funds.

8 Next Steps This could potentially take the form of an operating levy or a permanent improvement levy.

9 Next Steps If the district does put a levy on the ballot, we could maintain these funds without raising taxes. The new levy would generate the same amount as the bond that will come off residents’ taxes, meaning NO tax increase.
