The freedom square is a good place and an open ground for student relaxation, It is used for graduation ceremonies, student leaders campaigns. Student associations also convene at the freedom square for meetings.
Makerere students converge at the university’s Freedom Square to be awarded with degrees and PhDs in different courses.

The university swimming pool is a place for relaxation by the students. This is mostly when the students are stressed It’s a good recreational place and its affordable for the students

Makerere university is widely known for strikes that happen almost every semester. The university council at so many times fails to resolve student’s grievances amicably.
