2 CINQUAIN A cinquain is a five line poem. Line 1
one word (subject or noun) Line 2 two words (adjectives) that describe line 1 Line 3 three words (action verbs) that relate to line 1 Line 4 four words (feelings or a complete sentence) that relates to line 1 Line 5 one word (synonym of line 1 or a word that sums it up) triangles pointy edges revolving, rotating, angling Triangles are all different. 180o

3 HAIKU What is it? EXAMPLE Haiku is a poetic form and a type of poetry from the Japanese culture. The first line usually contains five (5) syllables, the second line seven (7) syllables, and the third line contains five (5) syllables. Haiku doesn't rhyme. A Haiku must "paint" a mental image in the reader's mind. The Rose Donna Brock The red blossom bends (5 syllables) and drips its dew to the ground (7 syllables)  Like a tear it falls

4 JUMP ROPE RHYMES Example 1 Example 2 Down by the river, down by the sea, Johnny broke a bottle and blamed it on me. I told ma, ma told pa, Johnny got a spanking so ha ha ha. How many spankings did Johnny get? 1, 2, 3.... Keep counting until the jumper messes up. Cinderella, dressed in yellow went upstairs to kiss a 'fella made a mistake and kissed a snake how many doctors did it take? [count until someone messes up]
