1 HOTS Questions-Catastrophic Events
Force, motion, and energy are observed in living systems and the environment in several ways.  Catastrophic events of weather systems such as hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes can shape and restructure the environment through the force and motion evident in them.  Weathering, erosion, and deposition occur in environments due to the forces of gravity, wind, ice, and water. TEKS and Student Expectations: 7.8 Earth and space. The student knows that natural events and human activity can impact Earth systems. The student is expected to: (A) Predict and describe how different types of catastrophic events impact ecosystems such as floods, hurricanes, or tornadoes;

2 Agenda: April 25, Set up New Table of Contents – Catastrophic Events 2. HOTS Questions 3. Notes: Catastrophic Events HOTS Questions List as many naturally caused things as you can think of that negatively effect the Earth. List as may human caused things that negatively effect the Earth. TEKS and Student Expectations: 7.8 Earth and space. The student knows that natural events and human activity can impact Earth systems. The student is expected to: (A) Predict and describe how different types of catastrophic events impact ecosystems such as floods, hurricanes, or tornadoes; TEKS/Objective: 6.10 Earth and space. The student understands the structure of Earth, the rock cycle and pate tectonics. B Students will classify rocks as metamorphic, igneous, or sedimentary based on how they formed SIOP/ELPS: Group Work Differentiated Instruction: Assessment: Daily Grade
