2 RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and its advantages / scope in BFSI and BPO Services
Abstract : Software ‘robot’ is a software application that replicates the actions of a human being interacting with the user interface of a computer system. The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a Framework which is used to configure a software or a “robot” to do work such as data manipulation, Communication with other systems, transaction of money or shares, booking tickets. This white paper gives an overview of RPA, it’s advantages, comparison with traditional automation tools and how to select an RPA automation tool. It also explains the feature of RPA and some recommended tools.

3 Introduction Introduction: Robotic Process Automation (RPA) :
> What is RPA ? Robotic process automation (RPA) is the use of software with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities to handle high-volume, repeatable tasks that previously required a human to perform. Robotic process automation (RPA) is the application of technology that allows employees in a company to configure computer software or a “robot” to capture and interpret existing applications for processing a transaction, manipulating data, triggering responses and communicating with other digital systems.

5 Current/Futuristic range of Implementations:
Process Automation Technologies like presentation-layer automation software – a technology that mimics the steps of a rules-based, non-subjective process without compromising the existing IT architecture – are able to consistently carry out prescribed functions and easily scale up or down to meet demand. Process automation can expedite back-office tasks in finance, procurement, supply chain management, accounting, customer service and human resources, including data entry, purchase order issuing, creation of online access credentials, or business processes that require “swivel-chair” access to multiple existing systems.

6 Implementations IT support and management
Automated processes in the remote management of IT infrastructures can consistently investigate and solve problems for faster process throughput. RPA can improve service desk operations and the monitoring of network devices. Separating scalability from human resources allows a company to handle short-term demand without extra recruiting or training. Automated Assistant As in voice recognition software or automated online assistants, developments in how machines process language, retrieve information and structure basic content mean that RPA can provide answers to employees or customers in natural language rather than in software code. This technology can help to conserve resources for large call centers and for customer interaction centers.

7 Examples, we can create solutions that do the following things:
Automate manual processes such as copying and pasting between applications Provide a single user interface for interaction with multiple applications Display process guidance tips to assist users in completion of workflow tasks Invoke a web service

8 3 .Why Robotic Process Automation (RPA) :

9 4. Benefits of Robotic Process Automation
Lower cost: Robotic Process Automation can save a 25-50% cost saving to the company. It also enables execution of the program 24 × 7 × 365. A software Robot can cost only a one-third of the price to a person. It has also been estimated that the average provider has achieved a positive return on this investment within six months. Higher Efficiency: RPA offers an improved service delivery model by increasing production and accuracy, reducing cycle times and decreasing the need for ongoing training. Unlike humans, robots can work 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Typically, one robot can do the work of two to five FTEs.

10 Implementing Robotic Automations into the daily workflow helps:
Reduce risk Increase compliance Reduce errors and rework Reduce redundancy and variability Reduce need for training and retraining

11 4. Advantages of Robotic Process Automation:
Accuracy & Quality – RPA offers improved services to processes that have a high probability of human error, thereby increasing accuracy. Robots are reliable, and consistent and do not whine when expected to work tirelessly. They also reduce the cases of re- works and improve the output quality, drastically. The best part here is that robots follow all rules to the dot, thereby producing 100% accuracy in the process results and let’s not forget what adds more sweetness to this deal – the fast implementation of this technology. RPA optimizes capabilities that multiply the organizational capacity. Consistency – Robotics is a safe, non-invasive technology that doesn’t interfere with the inherent systems and provides perfect consistency in performing the activities across the board, each time and every time.

12 Advantages Improved Analytics – Having access to error free, accurate data from various sources would improve the quality of analytics in the process. This leads to better decision making and overall, to the betterment of the process execution. Increased Employee Productivity – RPA ultimately facilitates humans and robots to do just what they excel at. As RPA frees the employees from their mundane tasks, they can focus more on client and customer interaction, relationship management and other such activities where humans naturally excel at. Having satisfied clients and customers only mean better business.

13 Advantages Increased Customer Satisfaction – Delivering better quality of work with high accuracy and improved customer/client interaction leads to increased customer and client satisfaction. This only adds to the goodwill of the business. Faster – As bots are handling the execution here, a larger amount of work can be done in a relatively much shorter period. A faster delivery, coupled with accuracy becomes the norm with automation. Reconciliation from Multiple Systems – RPA makes the tallying of data and information from multiple systems possible which generates information that helps with the integration of processes.

14 Advantages Versatility – RPA is applicable across industries and has the ability to perform a wide range of tasks. Any process that is rule based and can be defined and is repeatable makes an ideal automation candidate. Better IT Support and Management – RPA improves the operational quality of the service desk and monitors the network. This enables companies to handle short term spikes without have to recruit extra staff or train them.

15 5. Testing Process: Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has changed the way companies offer their services by allowing users to ease, accelerate, and improve the accuracy of manual and repetitive tasks. Robotic process automation is more than a testing tool. There are various tools available that enables software teams to build and execute automated tests. However, these tools are exclusively designed for testing and nothing else. Robotic process automation (RPA) tools have taken the concept of test automation tool to the next level, allowing people to build complex and rules driven business processes with little software development skills.
