Pay the $40 fee in Skyward by Wednesday You will be counted as Present on Thursday and Friday. You will still be able to get your Perfect Attendance Exemption because this is a school-sanctioned event. Turn in your position papers by 11:59pm tomorrow (January 23, 2018) Remind will be our primary means of communication. Please make sure to keep your phone charged at all times.

Meet in the cafeteria before 7:15. We need to leave as soon as possible. Please do not be late. We will have to leave you if it gets too late.

Awards: Best Delegate — to one delegate who demonstrates excellence in representation and performance in a single committee. This is the highest award offered in every committee. Outstanding Delegate — to one who demonstrates outstanding and notable performance in committee. Honorable Mentions — to acknowledge up to two delegates in each committee (depending on size) deserving of recognition for their performance. Best Position Paper — to one delegate in each committee that writes the best position paper, as judged by the Dias of that committee according to the criteria described in the position paper instructions. Best Large School Delegation — Given to a school bringing more than 25 students to conference that has demonstrated exemplary performance in committee engagement, awards won, & behavior displayed.

7 HAMUN Code of Conduct Where: The conference will be held at the University of Houston’s new Student Center. Some committees will be held in the Student Center North and four committees will be in the Cullen Performance Hall. Electronics - Bring your laptop, phone, and their respective chargers. Not all committee chairs will let you use them. Smoking and alcohol is prohibited in conference buildings at all time! No pre written resolutions are allowed.

8 HAMUN Code of Conduct Suits - a suit looks professional and is the best option Shirts and Tops - Gentlemen must wear a collared button down shirt that is tucked in at all times. Times are recommended. Ladies may wear a blouse sweater of button down shirt. T-shirts are not permitted. Pants and bottoms - Slacks and suit pants are acceptable, preferable in dark colors. Ladies, skirts should be not more than 2 inches above the knee (this is strictly enforced). No jeans, shorts, or cargo pants Shoes - gentlemen should wear dress shoes, ladies may wear closed toed heels or dress flats. No sneakers sandals or flip flops. Piercings - If you have piercings that are not for cultural purposes or not on you ears they should be removed.

For Graduating Seniors Only Please print out the application it is found on the front page of the HAMUN website Turn it in on Day 2 of Conference by 11am at the Registration Desk at the Student Center 1 page application. A well-done application shouldn’t take more than an hour. Just have to discuss Career Goals and a short essay (Prompt: In a hundred words or less, please elucidate upon HAMUN’s impact on you.)
