4 Stress Management Ways to manage events, or conditions to handle and deal with stressors. Different skills that will help and individual handle stress in a healthful, effective way. Being in control of your life and having realistic expectations about your day-to-day challenges are the keys to stress management.

Creating steps, a list, using a calendar, goal setting, prioritizing Getting organized List thoughts, concerns, using a calendar/planning, DECIDE, to-do lists, prioritizing Using your support system talking to a therapist, guidance counselor, or person experienced with situation Remove the stressor from your life (if possible) Regular exercise – something active every day Eat a healthy well-balanced diet daily

12 HOW DO I MANAGE STRESS Coping methods: dealing with it as it is occurring Listen to relaxing music Exercise Yoga Meditation Deep breathing Muscle tensing and relaxing Walk away Talk to someone Get some fresh air – take a walk Scream into a pillow or punch it Eat something healthy – raise blood sugar Take a nap LAUGH!

14 ACTIVITY With your group members, create a stressful situation that a teen could go through. Be creative and detailed! You will then pass your situation to the next group who will come up with a solution and coping mechanism for it.
