4 Aztec Lifestyle Priests and scribes mostly did the Aztec picture writing since they were the only ones that were able to read them

5 Aztec Culture The language the Aztecs spoke was called N’ahuatl and they also develop pictures served as their alphabet

7 Aztec Schools The Aztec children that were in the noble class attended a school called a calmecac The boys and girls went to different schools they learned different skills in religion and their history When the boys turned fifteen they were either sent to a calmecac or cucicalli. The girls were mostly taught at home where they began to spin when they were four years and then cooking at twelve years old. 8 Aztec Music When a child was sent to school, music and the playing of instruments was an important subject to be learned Students between 12 and 15 would learn songs

12 Aztec Food Aztec Empire ate chilies, tomatoes, limes, cashews, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peanuts, and of course chocolate The Aztecs often cooked food bundled in the Maguey plant leaves
