13 Comprehension And Critical Thinking (Climate and Vegetation-Pg 20-23)
Recall: Describe the major climate zones of the US and Canada. Summarize: How do oceans influence climate? Generalize: What geographic features might lead someone to settle in Vancouver rather than in Winnipeg? Locate: Where is the largest prairies in the world? Infer: Why do more people live in the prairies than in the tundra? Identify Effects: How does the vegetation of the prairies affect economic activity there? Describe the climate zones you would pass through if you traveled from Northwestern Canada to the Southeastern United States.

14 Do Research and Write 5-10 paragraphs Report:
Human Migration Migration is an important part of the study of geography. Since the beginning of history, people have been on the move. As people move, they both shape and are shaped by their environments. Wherever people go, the culture they bring with them mixes with the cultures of the place in which they have settled. "Push" and "Pull" Factors Geographers describe a people's choice to migrate in terms of "push" factors and "pull" factors. Push factors are things in people's lives that push them to leave, such as poverty and political unrest. Pull factors are things in another country that pull people to move there, including better living conditions and hopes of better jobs. Do Research and Write paragraphs Report: European Explorers / Migration to the Americas. The Arrival of the Europeans in Canada The Arrival of the Europeans in the United States of America.
