2. Description
In the 1920's, there was a huge crash in the stock market and the economy that was named "The Great Depression"
Living standards had also improved, but the farmers had struggled with finances because they were overwhelmed with the mass production
Farmers had to borrow loans to produce the food, but it ended up lowering the food profit and them not being able to pay back their loans

3. Description
On October 29, 1929, there was a sudden drop in the stock market that later was named, "The Great Crash." 
Many attempts were made to reboot or fix the stock market, but none of them turned out to be successful

4. Causes
The Great Depression started after a severe fall in total demand
When the Great Depression hit, the number of workers unemployed increased, which caused the unemployed people to spend little money
Since people were hesitant to spend money, the production of goods decreased and workers earned less or were laid off 

5. Unemployment Issues
Since the stock market had failed, a lot of people lost their jobs since there was no work to do
Around 25% of the working citizens were unemployed at one point in time
No work equals no money, so families didn't have sufficient amounts of food to feed themselves, nor did they a have a roof over their head
A big hit to the farmers during the Great Depression were the dust storms in the 1930s which forced them to lose their jobs

6. Effects
Many victims became bums and needed to look for jobs to buy food and other necessities
Some were left homeless, dirty, and did not have families or proper clothing
Strikes, that were sometimes violent, occurred among the agricultural workers and they achieved their goals in the end

7. Effects
After the Great Depression, many civilians started to take a more active role in the business for the population 
Multiple New Deal programs were created to provide safeguards that be came fixtures in the U.S economy 

8. Facts
Discrimination was still a prominent issue during the Great Depression
The president at the time when the Great Depression started was Herbert Hoover 
The Great Depression finally ended in 1939
