He was convinced that King Tutankhamen’s grave lay undiscovered in the Valley of the Kings. Lord Carnarvon gave the money to finance the expedition to find the Valley of the Kings. Tomb raiders broke the long sleep of the Pharaoh, starting a deadly curse. The day the tomb was discovered, Howard Carter’s canary was eaten by a cobra snake. The cobra and the vulture were thought to be Tutankhamen’s guards. There were hieroglyphics inside Tutankhamen’s tomb, above his body. The hieroglyphics warned of ‘death to the intruders.’ Answer the questions. Who was Howard Carter? Who was Lord Carnarvon? What started the curse working? What happened to show the curse was working?
