2 HFICD Vision The Human Factors, Instrumentation & Controls Division of ANS is the leading division for advancing and promoting measurement and control technologies and the interface between operators, controls and instruments.

3 HFICD Mission Provide a forum for the exchange of technical information for practitioners within the field Provide mechanisms for training and education for individuals entering the field or practitioners improving their skills Serve as an advocated for advancing HFIC technology and/or practice within the nuclear arena Serve as a point-of-access for external inquiries into nuclear HFIC technology and/or practices

Nominate HFICD members for ANS Fellow. Standards Contribute to existing standards efforts in ISA, IAEA, IEEE, IEC, etc.

Increase visibility with utilities – sponsoring sessions at UWC, continuing utility track at NPIC/HMIT Increase student engagement – advertise scholarship opportunities, student conference opportunities, team with YMG Implement pilot program to enroll non-HFICD ANS member attendees of NPIC/HMIT in the division and evaluate retention Enhancing Division Value Make past NPIC/HMIT meeting proceedings available to Division members through Collaborate Continue to offer tutorials and special workshops before topical meetings Investigate opportunities to co-organize meetings with IEEE (e.g., the sensors council) or Korean Nuclear Society (ISOFIC) Encourage active use of Collaborate for discussion, archive, and information dissemination
