1 Jesus Links Anointing with Fivefold
Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” The Spirit of the Lord is on me! (a decree) Jesus declares the fivefold ministry over his life. The fivefold is in Ephesians 4:11, “It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to pastors and teachers.”

2 The Fivefold Ministry Anointings
Evangelistic- Preach the Good News to the Poor Teaching- Sent to proclaim freedom for prisoners Prophetic- Recovery of sight for the Blind Pastoral- Release the oppressed Apostolic- Proclaim the Year of the Lord’s Favor Jesus connects anointing with his calling and purpose (destiny!)

3 What is the Fivefold Ministry?
Every person has been given at one of the fivefold anointings (not title) Ephesians 4:7, “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” Implies that everyone has been given a specific grace or gift Infers that there are different levels or measurements. I Corinthians 12:7, “7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”

4 Why Jesus Gave the Fivefold
Ephesians 4:12-16 outlines 5 benefits To prepare God’s people for works of service. (vs. 12) (broken bone) Body of Christ will be built up, vs. 12 Reach unity in the faith, vs. 13 “And become mature”, vs Attain the full measure of Christ, 15-16 Which comes first, the chicken or egg?

5 You Are Anointed I John 2:27, “As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you...that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.” How do know which anointing you have? What others have? What does the fivefold look like practically? Understanding this will help us fulfill our purpose as well as honor others

6 Traits of the Pastoral Anointing
Has a Genuine concern for others Desires to listen and discern real needs Follows up by asking questions at a later time Notices when others are missing from groups and contacts them Sought out for support by people in need The attack is to be overwhelmed due to difficulty drawing “boundaries” when called upon.

7 Traits of the Teaching Anointing
Loves truth and the Word of God Committed to building a firm foundation Communicates principles for godly living effectively Helps others stay true to their stated purpose Hungers for deeper understanding and revelation The attack is to be judgmental when facing injustice or dishonesty.

8 Traits of the Prophetic Anointing
Desires to hear the voice of the Lord Seeks revelation from the Spirit through visions and dreams Discerns God’s heart and purpose Speaks words from the Lord to strengthen and encourage others Interprets life events and people through the seeing in the Spirit The attack is to discount the importance of things in every day life. “Out of touch”

9 Traits of the Evangelistic Anointing
Has a genuine concern for those who do not know Jesus Shares eagerly what is important to them with others Likes to meet new people and be in new situations Loves the gospel and seeks opportunities to present it Has compassion for those who are imprisoned by their sin The attack is to feel rejected or misunderstood by others

10 Traits of the Apostolic Anointing
Desires to see people work together effectively and closely Yearns for the unity of the Body of Christ Sees the larger picture and how everyone can play a part Moves in spiritual authority that people willingly respond to Brings people from various groups together for one common purpose The attack is to be controlling or overbearing

11 Moving in Your Fivefold Anointing
Like Jesus, we need to decree over our life. “I am called to be….” There needs to be a commitment, now is the time, today is the day. I John 2:20, “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.” Impartation and Increase!

12 The Fivefold in the Local Church
Many churches believe in the fivefold, but have they commissioned anyone other than a pastor? (ordained) Where are people raised up? Emphasis on gifts is limited, but the fivefold is about fulfilling one’s destiny Begins with the children, from the nursery up to the office The local church must learn to identify the fivefold anointings and release them. How?

13 Five Fold Levels for the Prophetic
Level 1– The Spirit of prophecy lives in every believer Level 2- The Gift of prophecy is released Level 3- Recognized prophetic ministry by local leadership Level 4- Released into broader prophetic ministry Level 5- The Office of Prophet

14 Moving from One Level to the Next
The body of Christ, which means local leaders/churches must do this The church is to provide a nurturing atmosphere to help people mature The higher the level the greater the responsibility to raise up others As local churches and regional leaders network they can commission offices together The roots remain in the local body

15 The Global Church Unity is a result of the fivefold, it is the key to Jesus prayer in John 17 Not everyone is called to the office, but the office is when a person goes beyond the auspices of one church The Lord increases by impartation Not all offices in one church, but people at different levels The role of networks like HIM and ARC
