Example 1: Color The use of opposing colors in this photo draws attention to the center. The red flower is a very harsh color on the blue background.
Example 2: Size & Shape Size contrast is used in this picture to produce an illusion. The clear circles around both the black dots are different sizes, this creates misbelief in the real size of the dots. Both dots are the same size, though with large and small circles around the black dots it creates a size illusion.
Example 3: Texture This photo uses opposing textures to draw the eye to the center. The frayed material front and center draws the viewers attention because it is a very harsh change in texture compared to the woven material. The frayed material looks somewhat 3D.
