6. Layers of the Skin
Epidermis – outermost, thinnest layer (what we see). Outermost cells of the epidermis are dead
Dermis – layer right below the epidermis that contains blood vessels, sweat glands, oil glands, hair follicles, nerves, and muscles
Fatty Layer – insulates the body (also called Subcutaneous layer)
