2 Definitions (ACCJC Guide, 2017)
Distance Education: “…a formal interaction which uses one or more technologies to deliver instruction to students who are separated from the instructor and which supports regular and substantive interaction between the students and the instructor, either synchronously or asynchronously.” Correspondence Education: “Interaction between the instructor and student is limited, is not regular and substantive, and is primarily initiated by the student.”

When compared to FCC total, online classes had lower success rate and lower retention rate (about 5-6%) which is in line with the state average. However GPA of online classes was comparable to FCC overall.
