7. To be as successful as me you must be prepared!!
Preparation
The difference between a good grade and a great grade is the level of preparation you put into your years work.
How many students here generally only study for the weeks immediately before an exam?
To be as successful as me you must be prepared!!
Both long and short term preparation are needed

8. All of these things should be recorded on your Year Planner.
Long term planning
Classwork: Try as much as possible to keep up to date on your class work. Don’t miss school unless you’re struck by lightning.
Notetaking: Keep up date on your notes. If you fall behind it can be very difficult to catch up.
Homework/Coursework: It’s given for a reason (not to annoy you), so just do the work you’re assigned on time. It’s easier in the long run.
All of these things should be recorded on your Year Planner.

Short term planning
Targets list: Create a list of all the topics you must study for your exams. It will help you to visualise the work ahead.
Revision notes: Using textbooks and class notes, create short revision notes to study immediately before exams.
Practice/memorisation: Complete as many sample papers as possible and memorise your revision notes. This takes time.
All of these things should be recorded on your Revision Planner.

11. When you are preparing for exams, make a clear plan of what subjects and topics you want to study
each day. Equally as important is to plan some relaxation time.

13. Tips for a good study space
Have one location, preferebly in a quiet place where you do all your study.
Make certain that your desk is well lit, tidy and has everything you need; pens, paper, etc..
Make your study space as stimulating as possible, turn on music for example. Absolutely no TV!!!
Always have a drink beside you (not RED BULL). You study better when hydrated.
I know you’ll hate this idea, but to avoid distraction turn off your mobile phone when studying.

To have a written record of what you have learnt over the year.
To help your understanding of topics. Processing the information before you write your notes is an excellent way to help remember it.
If you make consistent notes over the year you will have much less work to do come exam time.

24. What to do with the notes
Now that you have created all these perfect study notes what do you do with them?
Using your study notes
Study with your friends and ask eachother questions. This is an excellent way to find any final problems.
Get as many past exam papers as you can and answer questions, using your notes to help you.
Read them repeatedly over the course of a few weeks, you’ll be amazed how much you remember.
