5 Blanket Guidance There are new expectations of you as an Officer – it is automatic. People (seniors and subordinates) will watch you, form impressions, and pass judgment. Higher expectations; much lower tolerance for lapses in judgment. Ask yourself…how would this look to my Soldiers? My spouse? My Mom? How would it look or sound on the evening news. 11/9/2018

6 Points of Emphasis Equal Opportunity / Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault Response and Prevention (EO/SHARP) Alcohol related misconduct Illegal Drugs (Prescription Medication) Fraternization Domestic violence Social Media Safety (Motorcycles, POVs and Heat) Accountability – Be at the right place, in the right uniform, at the appointed time. Chain of Command / Open Door Policy 11/9/2018

7 Command Philosophy Live the Warrior Ethos 24 x 7.
Train to competence and confidence. Leader Presence at training and after hours. Treat everyone with dignity and respect regardless of their race, gender, religion, national origin or sexual orientation. Accountability – All good things in the Army start with accountability. Accountability includes People and property. Be a team player. Have fun. 11/9/2018

9 E Co, 369th Adjutant General Battalion Welcome to… “the Swamp”
Good morning/afternoon! My name is CPT Theresa Fouda… Welcome to the Swamp Ladies and Gentlemen! As the Alpha Company commander, I would like to take the next 30 minutes to lay out what you can expect from me and what I expect from you during your time on the Gator Team! First off, a little about myself… I have been in the Army for six years. I have been assigned to Fort Jackson for the last two years as a AGS BOLC instructor. Prior to my assignment here, I served as a brigade strength manager and BN S1 in 593rd SB at JBLM, WA. I am dual military and my husband is currently stationed at Fort Carson, CO. We do not have any children (yet!) but, we do have a 5 year old black Labrador named Alex. It is important to me that you understand the Alpha Company mission – NEXT SLIDE

10 Mission Provide mission command, administrative support, sustainment support, and safety oversight for assigned/attached officers, senior non-commissioned officers, civilians, and international students attending courses at the Adjutant General School, the Financial Management School and other courses throughout Fort Jackson, in order to develop trained, ready, deployable and agile leaders. Someone please read this mission – thank you. As Alpha Company we are here to support you – our primary responsibility is to administratively support you so you can focus on the academic rigors of your course. I will avail myself to you for anything you may need – I have an open door policy that I encourage you to use. You can expect my full support in reference to any administrative issue or concern you may have during your time here at Fort Jackson however, understand what I expect from you: I expect you to meet the established standards set forth by the Army, your academic CoC, and this administrative CoC. I expect you to demonstrate that you have helped yourself to the best of your ability in reference to resolving an issue/answering a question or concern…why? First off, commander’s will expect [human resources professionals] or [finance officers] capable of handling issues and resolving concerns and secondly, at any given time Alpha Company has between 300 and 500 personnel to support with an authorized and assigned strength of three permanent party Soldiers…NEXT SLIDE

11 Task Organization Commander CPT Fouda First Sergeant 1SG Thomas
IMSO Chief Mr. Brucker Operations NCO SSG Belin IMSO Asst. Chief Mrs. Richards IMSO Training Coordinator Mr. Smith As shown on this task organization slide Alpha Company consists of myself, my First Sergeant (1SG Thomas) and my operations NCO (SSG Belin). We may be a small company, but we work hard and strive for efficiency…please, help us help you! We’ll discuss how in the follow-on slides. In addition, I am also responsible for providing supervision of the International Military Student Office (IMSO). The IMSO office serves a very important purpose and that is to assist the international officers during their time here at Fort Jackson. It is important to understand that as a student at the Soldier Support Institute, and a member of Alpha Company, you fall under two distinct chains of command…NEXT SLIDE Assigned Strength Officer= 1 Enlisted= 2 Civilian= 3

12 Commanding General, SSI Command Sergeant Major, SSI
Chains of Command Administrative Academic Commandant BG Chamberlain Commanding General, SSI COL Odom DEP CDR, SSI Director, Training Department LTC Jones CDR, 369th AG BN Course Director The two distinct chains of command are reflected on this slide… Does anyone know the difference between your academic CoC and your administrative CoC? The purpose of the academic CoC is to facilitate, monitor, and manage your academic performance in your assigned course. The purpose of the administrative CoC is to handle and process any administrative matters that arise during your time at the Soldier Support Institute. For example, if you fail a testable block of instruction such as Interpreting Military Pay and Allowances, your academic CoC will counsel you, retrain, and retest you. However, if you fail the APFT, fail to meet established height and weight standards, test positive on a UA, get a speeding ticket, fail to attend a scheduled doctor’s appointment, get arrested, etc. you will report to my office for counseling and appropriate administrative action. If required, the nature of your issue and/or offense will be reported up through the administrative CoC for processing. Please take a moment and become familiar with both chains of command you fall under during your time here at SSI. In addition, please look at the photographs provided for you…you will be expected to recognize key members of the SSI CoC to include the CG, DCO, and CSM. Lastly, let’s briefly discuss what you are expected to do if you: See the SSI command team at PT – ensure the formation is at the position of attention and salute providing the greeting of the day. See the CG’s van with the one star placard on the front…you are expected to salute the vehicle. New TRiPS that will not provide the total mileage therefore, please add MapQuest directions reflecting total mileage
