James 1:12-18

2 The Truth About Temptation
The goal of temptation is to stand. We have been equipped to stand. Jesus paved the way for us. God filters our temptations.

3 The Truth About Temptation
Temptation is my fault, not God’s. God is the opposite of sin. God would NEVER tempt you to do something that disgusts Him. Temptation comes from our desires. Acting on temptation is sin. Sin brings death.

4 The Truth About Temptation
God brings good gifts. Good, complete things come from God. He never changes. Our salvation is our first good gift.

5 What does that mean to me?
I need to memorize James 1:17

6 What does that mean to me?
Temptation is to show God’s glory. God has given us everything we need. Jesus is our perfect example. God ensures we can be victorious.

7 What does that mean to me?
We are responsible for our own temptation. God doesn’t deal in sin. My desires (good and bad) bring temptation. Sin is acting on the temptation. This can include thoughts and actions.

8 What does that mean to me?
God is good! You can thank God for any good gift you receive. God always give good. He never changes. He loves His children. The best gift is salvation.
