4 What Do We Hear Today? SharePoint – Great tool. Implementations are going on everywhere, in every agency! Data Center Consolidations – Federal Mandate. How to get there, how is it defined, how to plan and execute. Big Data – Everyone has Big Data. So what? What is the business driver, and what is requested from the data? Bring Your Own Device – Sure! What magic do I have to do as an Operations Manager to make this work?

5 Strategic Pillars

6 SharePoint Cool, progress for certain, but only going 20mph!
Currently implemented in many agencies. Many additional agencies planning implementation. Easy, quick out of the box! Progress, but not really using the tool! Cool, progress for certain, but only going 20mph!

9 SharePoint Optimization
SharePoint stores all content as BLOBs (binary large object) in content database(s). Traditionally, most organizations are satisfied with simple SharePoint farm architecture during initial deployment of the farm. However, as content (BLOB) stored within the farm grows, the maintenance and performance of content databases become more important.

10 IntelliDyne Deploys Solutions for Content Store of SharePoint
Introduce solutions such as STEALTH leverages Remote Blob Storage (RBS) Technology to store BLOBs in a location outside the SharePoint content databases. Storing the BLOBs externally reduces how much SQL Server database storage space is required.

13 Federal Emergency Management Agency
The Challenge •     For the last 4 years, IntelliDyne has been supporting FEMA’s Enterprise Shared Workspace (ESW) based on Microsoft’s SharePoint Server 2007 platform. FEMA’s main collaboration portal is comprised of over 91 affiliated Intranet sites.        •     Prior to IntelliDyne’s involvement, there was little cross-referencing and cross-linking among sites creating poor communication between FEMA employees about critical information. The Solution •     Architected a robust and scalable solution to host the Enterprise Shared Workspace Collaborative Sites and a new FEMA Intranet. Some of the key accomplishments include: -     Migrating legacy to SharePoint dynamic ASP. -     Automating business processes for FEMA directorates by converting static forms into Web enabled process driven forms. -     Converting an ASP front end and an Access backend database g-Track grant application to a SharePoint user interface and a SQL server backend. -     Developing an in-house support request ticketing. The Impact •     New platform supports 10,000 users across FEMA’s 10 U.S. regions with the capability to support surges during disasters. •     The government now has both functional and organic taxonomies that speeds navigation. •     The government now works smarter and delivers value to its internal and external Department of Homeland Security consumers.

14 TRICARE Management Activity Office of General Counsel
The Challenge •     General Counsel, TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) Office of General Counsel (OGC) is comprised of approximately 46 staff members split between two locations, one in Falls Church, VA and the other in Aurora, CO. OGC currently employs a variety of manual processes for managing casework, providing supervisory oversight, managing documents, tracking legal opinions, routing legal opinions, searching for precedential legal opinions, and creating  reports.  The Solution •      A case management tracking application, Legal Efficiency & Automation Platform (LEAP). •      LEAP automates the OGC’s current manual case tracking process and hard copy filing system. •      LEAP enables OGC attorneys and staff to programmatically create and track cases. •      LEAP enables document management by enforcing document version history features and also enforces business rules by automating all manual steps for notification and case status in the case workflow. •      Allows OGC staff to collaborate across offices in Aurora, CO and Falls Church, VA. •      Enhanced OGC’s case discoverability by implementing FAST Search for SharePoint and trained and provided help desk support for the solution. The Impact •      LEAP now supports all 46 staff members for TMA/OGC across CONUS, regardless of location. •      Allows TMA/OGC staff to track and report case status without cumbersome processes. •      Our solution provides TMA/OGC the ability to search cases, decisions, and any other support work.
