8 Carlow County Council – Energy Credit Example
A total of 1,814,000 kWh savings were generated. Traded as 82% fuel poor Balance were not fuel poor. Energy credits traded in 2014 March as part of tender process for domestic energy credits. Total energy credit sales €308,308 (23.5% of total Project Cost) Deemed energy credits list establishes energy saving by measure. Average social house measures somewhere between 58m2 and 72m2. Carlow County Council – Energy Credit Example

12 Measures: EXTERNAL INSULATION ATTIC INSULATION HEAT PUMP PV SOLAR
DEMAND CONTROLLED VENTILATION WINDOWS & DOORS Measures:

13 External Insulation: EXISTING WALL U-VALUE = 1.8 W/m2K
100MM INSULATION IMPROVED U-VALUE = 0.20W/M2k COST PER UNIT = €5,000.00

14 Attic Insulation: EXISTING CEILING INSULATION U-VALUE = 0.16 W/m2K
400MM INSULATION IMPROVED CEILING INSULATION U-VALUE = 0.12W/M2k COST PER UNIT = €800.00

15 Heat Pump: 4kW DAIKIN AIR TO WATER SPACE HEAT EFFICIENCY OF 530%
WATER HEAT EFFICIENCY OF 213% RADIATOR EMITTERS FULLY INTEGRATED CONTROLS ROOM THERMOSTAT COST PER UNIT = €7,000.00

16 PV Solar: 6 NO 285W PANELS SE/SW 38 DEGREE TILT
COST PER UNIT = €5,000.00 DC inverter in Heat Pump – 1st in EU Installed Nov 17

17 Controlled Ventilation
EXISTING VENTILATION = NATURAL OR NONE UPGRADED TO DEMAND CONTROLLED VENTILATION HUMIDITY SENSORS & STANDARD CONTROLS COST PER UNIT = €2,000.00

18 Windows & Doors: EXISTING WINDOW/DOOR U-VALUE = 2.8 – 3.1 W/m2K
INSTALLATION OF TRIPLE GLAZED WINDOWS IMPROVED WINDOW/DOOR U-VALUE = W/M2k COST PER UNIT = €5,000.00

19 RESULTS: 1 A3 – 10 A2’S – 1 A1 COSTS - €300,000.00
SEAI GRANT FUNDING AT 50% - €150,000.00 AVERAGE COST PER UNIT - €25,000.00 AFTER GRANT FUNDING - €12,500.00 REDUCED COSTS – REDUCED MAINTENANCE – BETTER AIR QUALITY
