National survey conducted on college campuses by the American College Health Association Collects data regarding students’ health habits, behaviors and perceptions Administered every 3 years at CPP Web-based Administered Winter 2016 438 respondents for a 6.3% response rate 55% female, 6% non-binary, 31% white non-Hispanic, 91% single (87% in 2013), 3.7% no insurance (19% in 2013), 78% hetero (91% in 2013)

4 42% of students rate their health as very good or excellent
50% of males 36% of females (47% in 2013) 78% when “good” is added in (86% in 2013)

5 What are the most common physical health diagnosis?
Allergies – 17% Asthma – 11% Sinus infection – 11% Back pain – 9% UTI – 8%

6 Screenings and Immunizations
Two-thirds of students had a dental exam and cleaning during the past year 30% of females had routine gyn exam 28% of males performed testicular self exam 33% of females performed breast self exam 20% had HIV test (lifetime) (27% in 2013) 36% got influenza vaccine (past year) 38% got HPV vaccine 46% got meningococcal meningitis vaccine (37% in 2013)

12 Exercise and Nutrition
How many servings of vegetables and fruits per day? 5 or more – 3% 3-4 servings - 23% 1-2 servings – 65% 0 servings – 9% What is the recommendation for weekly PA for adults? 5 or more days of the week, 30 min moderate, 20 min vigorous, or a combo of the two What percent of students met this guideline? Male – 46% (51% in 2013) Female – 33% (37% in 2013)

15 Mental Health diagnoses
Anxiety – 11% Depression – 10% Panic Attacks – 7% Insomnia – 4% ADHD -4% (all increased slightly from 2013) 20% of students reported one or more mental health diagnoses (15% in 2013)
