3. In Diabetics
Atherosclerotic features most likely developed in the arteries below the knees but the sole arteries escape from being affected by atherosclerosis.
Compromised blood supply to lower limbs may lead to intermittent claudication , and rest pain .
In Scandinavian studies : 40% of ischemic lower limb diabetics sufferers needed amputation , while only 15% of those with ischemic disease without being diabetics needed amputation.
