Project Implementation Community Action Platform for Energy Successful Supplier/Bidder Join/Create a community project Invite team members to join your project Tendering and Bid Evaluation We start on the CAPE website and go to Reporting and Analysis to see the data This will take us to a screen that displays a map of Milton keynes. You can view this map in various forms. Here is the satellite view, street view, and thermal map view. If we zoom in to this map you can see Xscape. This is showing the raw heatloss data of xscape and areas of Milton Keynes. If we just move out from Xscape we can see a small neighbourhood of (?). Again we can look at this area via satellite imagery and street view. It will be easier to see the further data from the street map view. Now we can start looking at interesting data for this community. First we can look at existing solar panels- these are shown in black on the map. Next, we can look at areas for potential solar panels, these are shown in red. Let’s look at a detailed analysis of a few rows of houses. If we select these houses, we will be able to get specific stats and information about their energy potential. These blue areas now represent the potential solar panels to be analysed. We have four statistics displayed for us now: Potential electricity savings in pounds, potential CO2 savings, potential export revenue (if you connected your surplus energy to the National Grid) and potential FIT (Feed-In-Tariffs) revenue (If your application to FIT is successful, you will receive FIT payments for the electricity your installation has generated and exported each time you submit a meter reading to your FIT licensee). If we go back up to the top to look at our map, we can also select to look at areas for potential ground source heat pumps (Put simply a heat pump takes the available heat from the ground or air surrounding a property and increases it to a more useful temperature for use in the home. This renewable source of heat can be used to create warm air or water (for space and central heating) as well as hot water (for both central heating and domestic hot water supply). Areas for potential ground source heat pumps are shown on the map in white a green. We can see that there are a few houses with big gardens that have the potential for these heat pumps. Let’s take a look at the stats for installing these heat pumps. Again we can see four sets of information based on installing the ground source heat pumps in this area: Energy savings, CO2 savings, return on investments and trees saving (ask Jose about this). If we want even more specific data, we can go back to the top and click on each individual house. Here we can get information on: the address of the building, CO2 savings, electricity savings, FIT revenue, export savings. We can also get information about the roof of the building (indicating why it is suitable for potential solar panels), estimated output and carbon savings of the solar panel. We can also get details of the building. If we look at a potential area for ground source heat pumps, we can also get all these details about the potential energy generated by the heat pump.
