3 Automation Technology & Modernization with OpCon
Enterprise-Wide Automation Cross-Platform Workflows & Powerful Dependencies OpCon is an Automation fabric that orchestrates and connects everything digital, providing full automation and control whether physical, virtual, on premise or cloud. Cross-platform workflows & power dependencies - Imagine being able to have a pricing update running on a legacy platform that when complete triggers a file transfer to web catalogues running on a public or hybrid cloud. While simultaneously bursting updates to stores, sending notifications and monitoring the entire process. Integration and connectivity of this flexibility and power is limited only by imagination. Embedded knowledge - Build in expert knowledge Fully documented and fully audited - Audits are quicker and easier with OpCon. Script usage, job run times, operator actions, dependencies and SLAs Visualize multiple workflows - Tagging provides the ability to monitor jobs related to specific processes, tasks or systems. Critical jobs for example Integrate of people and processes - Talk about Self Service Remove human errors and slips - Automation enables full testing that otherwise is costly and often does not happen Reduce Risk Remind the audience that risks need to be avoided

4 Automation Technology & Modernization with OpCon
Enterprise-Wide Automation Embedded Knowledge OpCon Constraints Legislation Governance Technology Rules Risk Pressure Availability Embedded knowledge - Build in expert knowledge Fully documented and fully audited - Audits are quicker and easier with OpCon. Script usage, job run times, operator actions, dependencies, SLA’s and critical paths are all visible Visualize multiple workflows - Tagging provides the ability to monitor jobs related to specific processes, tasks or systems. Critical jobs for example. Integrate of people and processes - Talk about Self Service Remove human errors and slips - Keeping the company out of the news. An expert might still make a mistake, that’s a slip due to stress, concentration of fatigue. Errors are when an inexperienced person is doing something (or making a decision) they shouldn’t. Disaster Recovery is a typical complex process that requires many moving parts to be synchronized for it to be successful. Due to constant infrastructure and application changes DR plans need to be flexible and must be tested fully. Automation enables full testing that otherwise is costly and often does not happen. Reduce Risk Remind the audience that an automation framework (or fabric) provides many business benefits that increase compliance and efficiency while simultaneously reducing cost and risk.

10 Move from Accidental Architecture to a Single-Point-of-Control
Digital Transformation Reducing Complexity & Costs, Embedding Competencies & Process Reliability OpCon Jobs 100,000 is the number of daily executions. Jobs in TWS, Control-M, OPC refers to the number of jobs converted. SMA are a vendor and business partner to one of the largest insurers in Europe. Generali where struggling to control a complex (almost accidental) architecture born out of rapid growth, mergers and acquisitions. This is very often what our automation experts experience during automation engagements. Those same experts have helped Generali move to a uniform, efficient and easier to manage single automation product solution. Once central point of control, one set of automation skills. Our migration processes are well proven because we have migrated and replaced most enterprise schedulers and automation products at some point. OpCon is a very easy to use product and your own resources will be able to create, maintain and monitor all business and IT jobs/tasks and workflows.

11 Digital transformation requires automation but delivers …
Organizational Resilience Operational Efficiency Agility Secure Data & Access Organizational Resilience Operational Efficiency Agility Secure Data & Access Flexible, Reliable & Repeatable Operations Organizational Resilience Operational Efficiency Agility Coping & Adjusting to New Tech Embracing Change Surviving Disruption Organizational Resilience Operational Efficiency Organizational Resilience Continuous Business Improvement Adoption of Best Practices Embedded Expertise Flexibility Learning Adaptability What does the business really get from modernization or digital transformation? As technologists we get the mechanics of what is going on and how it is achieved but the business can look back and say it achieved these FIVE things… Organizational Resilience brings agility, adaptability, robustness and competitiveness. Resilience across the Supply Chain, Operations and Information Technology. Resilient organizations trade repeatedly, reliably, survive disasters and market disruption. They navigate confidently through competitive challenges, governance, auditing and data security, they are fully integrated have strong reliable processes and will have automated operations including error recovery and disaster recovery.

12 OpCon Architecture Failover Server Server TCP/IP User Interface
OpCon Server The OpCon server resides on a Windows server and also requires SQL Server for the database. Disaster Recovery protection is normally provided by a secondary server and a replicated database. The primary and secondary servers do not communicate with each other but the secondary is ready to take over at any point in time with zero data loss. Agents The server communicates with our agents on numerous platforms to send and receive task executions and status information. We support many operating system platforms, virtualization, ERPs, Core systems and many more applications. User Interface The user interface connects directly to the Database to control configuration and rules for setting up the processes. We have both a rich client interface and an adaptive web client. TCP/IP User Interface Agent ERPs Agent UNIX/Linux Enterprise Manager (Java) Solution Manager (web client) Agent Windows Agent Legacy Note: Preloaded server hardware available

13 Digital Automation Platform
Key Features API Layer Multi-Instance Schedule Management Integrating jobs, people and processes across legacy and open systems normally requires programmers. OpCon users can easily link any jobs across different systems, applications and geographies with no specific experience. Utilizing our automation framework. Good example here is European Investment Bank who now outsource Investment Banking IT to other banks using OpCon thus turning a cost centre into a profit centre! This same bank had a problem with staff accessing reports by calling IT directly, they solved this by utilizing Self Service so users had a browser based button to request their authorised reports. Security improved dramatically, problem solved but they also noticed a reduction in calls to IT of 168k/year! Other examples: If a backup is late to start someone needs to know. Also what is the impact? You can see this within OpCon Gantt charts and adjust jobs accordingly. If a web site is over loaded adjust resources or clone new instances in a cloud or virtual environment to bring on line to help with the load. SMA automatically provision new virtual servers for training classes Ok, that’s the technology side, what about monitoring and accessing all those workflows. We have that covered as well, many of our customers run 100,000’s even millions of jobs. In fact a US bank just passed their Billionth OpCon job! 14 Modernization and Replacements
Migration Framework – Proven tools and methodology Control-M, UC4, Automic, TWS, CRON, Win Sched, SOS, CA, etc. API layer and SDK for fast integration Easy to use UI for rapid learning Integrations Lzlabs, Oracle Tuxedo, Metaware Tech, Microfocus, Asysco AMT Almost every IT vendor and industry analyst right now will talk about Digital Transformation and the disruption facing businesses today. Businesses are being forced to react more quickly and to adapt, to be more agile and embrace new technologies. Many have realised that they cannot do this with their decades old IT operations. SMA have seen a significant growth in modernization projects and a willingness to replace older scheduling or automation technology. SMA have created their own modernization taskforce who specialise in these projects. We have built our experience over more than two decades and have well proven tools and processes. This task force combined with our broad range of integrations is a strong advantage. We also have strong connections to all of the important enablers and vendors in the Modernization space.
