5 Tuition fee loans You don’t pay anything upfront
You receive a loan to pay your tuition fees every year of your course Not linked to household income If any of the exceptions to maximum fee students can request a reduced fee loan. Students never need to pay any of their own money towards their fees. If fees do increase year on year students will be able to increase their tuition fee loan to however much their fees are. 06/11/2018 © The University of Sheffield

9 Student loans – an example
You pay back 9% of anything you earn above £21,000 Therefore if you earn £22,000 you repay 9% of £1,000 - £90 per year or £7.50 per month Repayments are based on what you earn not what you owe. 10 Applying for support from Student Finance
Applications usually open end of Jan. Students are encouraged to apply asap. Students do not need to have an offer/accepted a place to be able to apply they should just pick the course they think they are most likely to attend. Students should use the UCAS course code to ensure they get the right course.
