2 The Ultimate Evil by Maury Terry
Television and Film rights have been optioned by James Franco. Trailers are available for view and in review by HBO Title: The Ultimate Evil Author: Maury Terry Publisher: Barnes & Noble Publisher: Pub. Date: 1987 Rights Available: World .

3 The Ultimate Evil On August 10, 1977, the NYPD arrested David Berkowitz for the "Son of Sam" murders that had terrorized New York City for more than thirteen months. Berkowitz eagerly confessed to being a lone marauder—one who had carried out eight senseless shootings with a .44 caliber Bulldog revolver. The case was officially closed. Journalist Maury Terry was suspicious of Berkowitz's confession. He has spent the years since that summer researching the case, meticulously gathering evidence to demonstrate that the killer did not act alone. In The Ultimate Evil, Terry details the chilling events, proving that Berkowitz was an affiliate of—and triggerman for—a Satanic cult known as the Process Church of the Final Judgment. Terry's work not only uncovers the cult's involvement in the "Son of Sam" murders but also finds their signature on other ritual slayings across the country. Since the first publication of The Ultimate Evil in 1987, new evidence about the Process Church has emerged. From his prison cell, David Berkowitz has now confirmed Maury Terry's conclusions, making this updated edition even more extraordinary. As Terry untangles the dense web of information to expose the frightening extent of the Process Church's reach, he also reveals its continuing underground existence today. Praise “Terry’s book offers answers where there had been none before…” –New York Newsday “Maury Terry…produced a series of masterful journalistic efforts. With The Ultimate Evil, Maury has topped himself.”- Steve Dunleavy, New York Post “The book is important reading for the action… By writing about it, Terry may have thwarted “The Ultimate Evil” he describes.”-John Santucci, former Queens, NY District Attorney

4 Author Biography Maury Terry is an award-winning investigative reporter whose work has been prominently featured in both television and print media. In and again in 1997, he conducted the first television interviews with the confessed killer David Berkowitz. Currently, Terry operates his own TV production business, and he continues to investigate major criminal cases.

Title: The Scamp Author: Jennifer Pashley Publisher: Press 53 Published: May, 2014 Rights Available: World

12 The Scamp Mysterious, chilling, and told a breakneck pace, The Scamp will thrill readers of Daniel Woodrell’s Winter’s Bone and Roxane Gay’s An Untamed State. Rayelle Reed can’t escape in her small town, where everyone knows everything and not enough: All the guys she slept with, but not the ones she loved. The baby she had out of wedlock with the pastor’s son, and how the baby died, but not the grief and guilt that consume her. At a motel bar, Rayelle meets Couper Gale, a freelance detective on a mission to investigate a rash of missing girls, and she tags along as an excuse to cross the state line. But when Couper’s investigation leads them to the mystery surrounding Rayelle’s runaway cousin Khaki, she finds she is heading straight back into everything she was hoping to leave behind. As fates become entwined, Rayelle must follow a haunted and twisted path—leading her toward a collision where loyalties will be betrayed, memories uncovered, and family bonds shattered. Unflinchingly dark and compelling, THE SCAMP confronts head-on the issues of family origins and the bonds between mothers, daughters, and sisters. It delves deep into the cycle of abuse and poverty, questioning, in the end, the value of any one life, child or adult. In Pashley’s hands, the lost girls of rural and industrial America, trapped in the unforgiving systems of government assistance and single parenthood, are portrayed with depth and nuance. Title: After A While You Just Get Used To It: A Tale of Family Clutter Author: Gwendolyn Knapp Publisher: Gotham Pub. Date: June, 2015 Available Rights: World

15 After A While You Just Get Used To It
A vibrant new voice ups the self-deprecating memoir ante with tragicomic tales of her dysfunctional life in swampland Florida and America’s Big Easy A dive bar palm reader who calls herself the Disco Queen Taiwan; a slumlord with a penis-of-the- day LISTSERV; and Betty, the middle-aged Tales of the Cocktail volunteer who soils her pants on a party bus and is dealt with in the worst possible way. These are just a few of the unforgettable characters who populate Gwendolyn Knapp’s hilarious and heartbreaking—yet ultimately uplifting—memoir debut, After a While You Just Get Used to It.   Growing up in a dying breed of eccentric Florida crackers, Knapp thought she had it rough—what with her pack rat mother, Margie; her aunt Susie, who has fewer teeth than prison stays; and Margie’s bipolar boyfriend, John. But not long after Knapp moves to New Orleans, Margie packs up her House of Hoarders and follows along. As if Knapp weren’t struggling enough to keep herself afloat, working odd jobs and trying to find love while suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, the thirty-year-old realizes that she’s never going to escape her family’s unendingly dysfunctional drama. Praise "Gwendolyn Knapp's writing manages to be both darkly acerbic and incredibly warm …After A While You Just Get Used To It perfectly captures the relentless, crazy-making love only possible (and endurable) among family."—Katie Heaney, author of Never Have I Ever  "A funny, slightly disturbing, wistful read that could only happen in the South.  If you grew up below the Mason-Dixon line, this book will make you nostalgic for the South, its eccentrics, and reunions that include a cooler of beer, someone getting out of jail, and an itchy dog. " --Adele Levine, author of Run, Don't Walk.

21 The Family In August of 1969, during two bloody evenings of paranoid, psychedelic savagery, Charles Manson and his dystopic communal family helped to wreck the dreams of the Love Generation. At least nine people were murdered, among them Sharon Tate, the young, beautiful, pregnant, actress and wife of Roman Polanski. Ed Sanders' unnerving and detailed look at the horror dealt by Manson and his followers is a classic of the true-crime genre. The Family was originally published in 1971 and remains the most meticulously researched account of the most notorious murders of the 1960s. Using firsthand accounts from some of the family's infamous members, including the wizard himself, Sanders examines not only the origins and legacy of Manson and his family, but also the mysteries that persist. Completely revised and updated, this edition features 25 harrowing black and white photos from the investigation Praise “The first complete, authoritative account of the career of Charles Manson. A terrifying book.”The New York Times Book Review “…a hard and densely packed narrative, filled with menace and unremitting in its effort to trace the growth and development of an evil that grew within us.”- Los Angeles Times

Throughout their five seasons on British television (and well into the troop’s movie sequels and assorted solo projects), Monty Python became a worldwide symbol not only for taking serious subjects and making them silly, but also for treating silly subjects seriously. Monty Python provided a treasure trove of erudite “in” jokes, offering sly allusions to subjects as diverse as T.S. Elliot’s "Murder in the Cathedral" (as part of a commercial for a weight loss product) and how to conjugate Latin properly (as explained by a Roman centurion to a Jewish zealot painting anti-Roman graffiti on a wall). It was this combination of the uniquely highbrow but silly humor that inspired countless followers (Saturday Night Live, to culture aficionados that still strive to "get" Monty Python. Praise “The authors clearly know their Python, and they also know how much the Pythons themselves knew about virtually everything, up to and including the Spanish Inquisition.” —The New York Times “The authors get the jokes as well as the anger behind many of them...With helpful books like this one, readers may be more alert to the persistent absurdities of modern life and to the bracing anarchy preached by Monty Python.” —The Washington Post “Monty Python fans will applaud the efforts of fellow fans Cogan and Massey who introduce the surreal comedy group to the uninitiated by exploring the historical, political, literary, artistic, and even religious contexts for many of the troupe's sketches.” —Publishers Weekly

26 Riding on the Edge: A Motorcycle Outlaw’s Tale
Ride with author John Hall into the turbulent world of 1960s bike club culture, from his beginnings at an upstart motorcycle club to his rise to the Long Island chapter president of the Pagans, a club that the FBI called “the most violent criminal organization in America.” Follow him into the Pagan heartland of Pennsylvania where he fell in love, got in a roadhouse brawl over a honky-tonk angel, and eventually went to jail for “takin’ care a club business.” Now after a career as a journalist and college professor, he returns to the violent days of his youth and smashes up stereotypes like he once smashed up bars, resurrecting long-dead brothers in a style reminiscent of Jack Kerouac and Mark Twain. Hall presents them as they really were: hard living, hard loving, hard drinking, hard fighting rebels, but also hardworking, patriotic, loyal, and lovable characters. Outlaws, yes, but outlaws as American as apple pie. Praise “Few people are able to retrospectively recount the life of an outlaw biker with such accuracy and candor as John Hall, mostly because few people so deeply entrenched within such a culture ever make it out alive… Whether you are interested in the sociology of such sub cultures or just want to read a firsthand account of life within an outlaw biker club, Riding on the Edge will surely quench this thirst like a cold beer at a biker rally.”  -- Motorcycle.com “Riding on the Edge breaks down the stereotypes and newspaper headlines to reveal the raw moments in time which spawned them. 28 Beneath the Mask of Holiness: Thomas Merton and the Forbidden Love Affair that Set Him Free by Mark Shaw  Title: Beneath the Mask of Holiness: Thomas Merton and the Forbidden Love Affair that Set Him Free  Author: Mark Shaw Publisher: Palgrave Macmillan Trade Pub. Date 2008 Rights Available: Translation

29 Beneath the Mask of Holiness
Thomas Merton is the most influential American Catholic author of the twentieth century, called the “most important spiritual writer of the twentieth century.” To his legion of followers, he appeared to be a peaceful, contented monk advocating the contemplative life, but in 1966 he was a troubled, lonely monk—sad, demoralized, guilt-stricken, and depressed over past sins. Despite being promoted by the Catholic Church as its great teacher and philosopher, Merton struggled with his irreverent behavior toward women and never having learned how to love, and be loved. Only when the suffering Merton fell madly in love with a student nurse, a forbidden, erotic affair condemned by the Catholic Church, would he discover whether his devotion to God was stronger than his dedication to the woman he called "a miracle in my life." Truly an inspirational story based on Merton's personal journals, new information and sources such as fellow monks, Beneath the Mask of Holiness presents a unique portrayal of the famous man, one never revealed in its entirety before. Praise "[This book] can only deepen and add weight to our respect for this scrupulous, devoted, and tormented man."  -- Ron Carlson, author of Five Skies "This book will provide people with a new view of the deeply human, but transcendent, love story of Thomas Merton--loving God and loving a woman. [It will be] a great contribution to the spiritual journey of thousands of people." -- Dr. Lewis Rambo, Professor of Pastoral Psychology at San Francisco Theological Seminary, and conversion expert

31 Accidental Revolution: The Story of Grunge by Kyle Anderson
Title: Accidental Revolution: The Story of Grunge Author: Kyle Anderson Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin Pub. Date 2007 Rights Available: World, foreign rights sold in the British Commonwealth

32 Accidental Revolution: The Story of Grunge
Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Hole and Alice in Chains are the names that come to mind when we talk about grunge.  But never before has there been a complete history of grunge with razor-sharp critical analysis--until now.    Grunge, a style of music that wed classic rock riffs with punk ethos, was the musical movement that defined the 90's and left an indelible mark on the music scene at large.   But how did this musical phenomenon emerge from the Seattle underground to become a universal beacon of despair for millions of restless kids around the globe, and why did it resonate with so many disenchanted outsiders? Kyle Anderson answers these questions and more, examining the connection between grunge and punk, how Kurt Cobain's disdain for Axl Rose propelled Nirvana to instant success, the singer who officially killed off grunge with his trite lyrics and pseudo-grunge attitude and the band the ripped off Pearl Jam, made millions of dollars by selling out to the media and went on to become the most hated band ever. Praise "The way Kyle Anderson writes about grunge mirrors how the music sounded in 1993: humor within seriousness, heaviness within distortion, enthusiasm within detachment. This book will make you get on the snake.”- Check Klosterman, author of Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs "Kyle Anderson details the roots, the rise, the demise, and the legacy of rock and roll's last big thing. Anderson's witty, clear-eyed insights cut through the flannel haze to capture rock's last movement for what it truly was, and wasn't.”- Anthony Bozza, author of Whatever You Say I Am: The Life and Times of Eminem

33 Author Biography Kyle Anderson is an editor at Spin magazine. His writing has also appeared in Entertainment Weekly and FHM.

34 Edie Factory Girl by David Dalton and Nat Finklestein
Title: Edie Factory Girl Author: David Dalton and Nat Finkelstein Publisher: VH1 Press Pub. Date 2006 Rights Available: World

35 Edie Factory Girl She was riveting to look at, a sprite of the zeitgeist, the living distillation of the over-amped vision of New York in the mid-sixties. Like many exotic creatures that Andy Warhol shed his light on, she initially bloomed—became the symbol for all that was hip and stylish—and just as quickly began to disintegrate. Told with unsparing candor, and with images that capture her at the peak of her Factory stardom, Edie Factory Girl is the short but enduring cultural story of Edie Sedgwick—releasing in time for the film of the same name starring Sienna Miller, and including rare photos of Miller as Edie.  David Dalton was just a teen when he became one of Warhol’s first assistants, and was present for the arrival of Edie: witnessing her rise, her Factory superstardom, and subsequent unraveling. Like an anthropologist thrown together with a tribe of “wild” people, Nat Finkelstein entered the Factory just as Warhol was emerging as the supreme catalyst of the sixties. Among the freaky menagerie, Nat found Andy’s misbegotten princess the most fascinating and enigmatic character of her time, and with a compassionate lens recorded her fragile, fleeting beauty. Edie Factory Girl is a privileged glimpse into Warhol’s inner sanctum, via revealing interviews with intimates, friends, and scenesters, in which Edie orbits around the likes of Bob Dylan, Salvador Dali, Betsey Johnson, Lou Reed, Judy Garland, and many more, before departing as quickly as she came.

38 No End in Sight No End In Sight is the first-person story of a young sled dog racer who had to overcome an incredible obstacle to compete—born legally blind, Rachel grew up amid the taunts of classmates who made fun of her until her innate athletic talent gave her an arena in which to shine. Rachael was the youngest athlete ever to compete in a 500-mile sled dog race, but her dream goal was to participate in the sport's top competition: the Iditarod Trail International Sled Dog Race across the wilderness of Alaska. She faced stiff opposition from the organizers of the race because of her disability, but she never gave up—and finally was allowed to compete with the help of a visual interpreter. No End In Sight is a story of athleticism and the grace that comes from working with animals. It is also a stirring memoir about how an unwavering inner compass can propel anyone to achieve even seemingly insurmountable goals. Praise "Rachael Scdoris is not one to walk away from a challenge. She’s already an accomplished musher, but it is her character and perseverance which are most exceptional.”- The Frontiersman “People identify with Rachel. People see Rachel as a role model for those facing challenges in their own lives.” -Mushing Magazine “This memoir could have been one of those movie-of-the-week tearjerkers (something called Blind Determination, perhaps), but, thankfully, it is instead a straightforward recounting of the author's unique odyssey. The book is inspirational, but the inspiration comes not from preachy you-can-do-- anything lectures, but from Scdoris herself, who surely proves that nothing is impossible.” -Booklist

49 David Lynch: The Man From Another Place by Dennis Lim
Title: David Lynch: The Man From Another Place Author: David Lim Publisher: New Harvest Published: November, 2015 Rights Available: Spanish

50 David Lynch: The Man From Another Place
David Lynch: The Man From Another Place, Dennis Lim’s remarkably smart and concise book, proposes several lenses through which to view Lynch and his work: trough the age-old mysteries of the uncanny and the sublime, through the creative energies of surrealism and postmodernism, through theories of dreams and of good and evil. Lynch himself often warns against over interpretation. And accordingly, this is not a book that seeks to decode his art or annotate his life—to dispel the strangeness of the Lynchian—so much as one that offers complementary ways of seeing and understanding one of the most distinctive bodies of work in modern cinema. Its spirit is true to its subject, in remaining suggestive rather than definitive, in allowing what Lynch likes to call “room to dream,” and in honoring the allure of the unknown and the unknowable. Praise “Reading Lim’s book feels like a visit to the Lynchian world—full of dreamy grey space. It’s transportive. It’s thorough. It’s work—but it’s worth it.” —Refinery29 “The Man from Another Place is a very well written ‘cinema-therapy’ session on the career of David Lynch, one of the few real auteurs left. His movies, obsessions, studio hassles, and personal life are all revealed in a smart, readable analysis by author Dennis Lim, who makes for the perfect film shrink.” —John Waters “David Lynch’s brilliance as an artist is further illuminated by the laser intelligence of Dennis Lim’s commentary. Packed with new ideas regarding this most enigmatic of American filmmakers and refreshingly free of jargon, DL on DL is a dazzling performance. It is also a pleasure to read.” —J. Hoberman, co-author of Midnight Movies

51 Author Biography Dennis Lim is the director of programming at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and a frequent contributor to the Arts & Leisure section of the New York Times. A former film editor and critic at the Village Voice, he is the author of The Village Voice Film Guide: 50 Years of Movies from Classics to Cult Hits (2009).
