1 Praying for Secret Believers
The consequences of becoming a believer from a Muslim background depends on the country. Some are cast out by family and lose friends. Some lose jobs or the benefits of citizenship. Some may be killed on the spot. Nearly every believer from a Muslim background must keep their faith secret. So let’s pray for secret believers.

2 Maysam is a believer from a Muslim background
Maysam is a believer from a Muslim background. To tell you her true name would be to put her life in danger. In the region where she lives, those who decide to leave Islam and follow, ‘Isa’, the Arabic name for Jesus, can face arrest, physical attack, and even death. Maysam was forced to flee when her family discovered her faith and her brothers threatened to kill her. She says, “I am alone now. But I have since found a new spiritual family in the church. God never leaves me alone.”

3 During Ramadan, Mushir cried out to God and asked to really know Him
During Ramadan, Mushir cried out to God and asked to really know Him. Suddenly a picture fell from the wall and smashed into pieces. Behind the picture was a painting of Jesus Christ on the cross. “In my heart I knew this was the answer to what I asked for. I knew that I had found God.”

4 “I will give you fifteen days to decide to abandon your Christian faith. If you choose not to, you will no longer be part of the family,” Nedjma’s father said to her and her husband when he found out that they’d been Christians for ten years. “He did not threaten to kill us, but he made clear that he wanted us to renounce our Christian faith.” Rafik and Nedjma and her husband have decided to remain faithful to Christ. Pray that Nedjma’s father will convert to Christ, too.

5 Since Ramez converted to Christianity, he and his little daughter have been seen as traitors by friends and family. “Persecution builds the church that’s close to Jesus, but can destroy those who are not close to Him,”Ramez says. “Persecution is the price to accept Jesus.”

6 “From the moment my parents found out about my new beliefs, every day was the same fight and the same discussions.” One night Mohammed’s neighbours started throwing rocks at him and his wife, and when he was called to the police station, they beat him even more. “This generation is the generation that needs to suffer because they are building the church.”

7 Mourad was in jail for a month for being a Christian
Mourad was in jail for a month for being a Christian. “Every night I talked with my guards about Jesus. In just one month I was able to share with more than forty people.” Mourad learned to be quiet and to listen. “The time in jail was a quiet time for me.”

8 Nurah left Islam to follow Christ 15 years ago and now gives discipleship training to others from her home. “I see how lives were changed when people started living with God and that’s the most beautiful thing I could wish for.”
