1 Radiation Conduction Convection byB BY ABBEY AND ELLA

2 Radiation: Radiation can be defined as energy released in the form of particles that travels in waves. EXAMPLES: ● A campfire's heat ● Thermal radiation ● Light bulbs ● Light from the sun

3 Convection: This is how heat energy flows from a hot substance by being carried by the molecules of a object moving from the hot to cold region. EXAMPLES: ●Boiling water - The heat passes from the burner into the pot, heating the water at the bottom. Then, this hot water rises and Hot air balloon - A heater inside the balloon heats the air and so the air moves upward. This causes the balloon to rise because the hot air gets trapped inside. When the pilot want to descend, he releases some of the hot air and cool air takes it place, causing the balloon to lower.

4 DEFINITION: Heat is transferred from one particle of matter to another in an object without the movement of an object.Examples: ● If An ice cube will soon melt if you hold it in your hand. The heat is being conducted from your hand into the ice cube. ● you touch a hot stove, heat will be conducted to your finger and your skin will burn. ● A metal spoon becomes hot from the boiling water inside the pot.
