It utilizes a swift in line operations sequence to create structures from a single continuously extruded thermoplastic film. Such consists of an operation series of thermoforming, folding and bonding. It has the potential to work with various thermoplastics and ultimately produce honeycombs of which density, size, and thickness can be modified with simple hardware and/or process parameter adjustments. The method would provide completed composite sandwich materials that are both effective and practical.
