1 Attributes of employees valued by employers

2 What technical knowledge will the following people need
Job related Technical knowledge – knowledge of PASCAL, Visual Basic, VB Net if going for a programming job. What technical knowledge will the following people need Airline employees – employees are expected to respond in the same language that passengers are used. Sales representative – drive, have a clean driving licence. Some may provide a car but other employers may ask that you have your own vehicle. IT technician – your role is fixing PCs so you an employer would need to be able to use hand tools such as a screwdriver as well as using electronic testing equipment such as a multimeter.

3 Activity Research the internet to find out what childcare facilities employers are expected to provide so that employees all have the same chance at jobs. In groups of 3or4 search the local newspapers for examples of job adverts that specify the technical skills needed for ICT vacancies . List the attributes that employers seem to be seeking. Make a list of the technical skills you have and grade your own level of competence.

Time management – use of calendars and electronic diaries/PDA-blackberry. Team working Verbal/written communication skills Numerical skills Creativity

6 Blackberry In a 3 panelled booklet comment on the following:
Evaluate the blackberry PDA. Explain how it works, its features, appearance, ease of use – all assessed against cost. Create a table comparing where you can get the PDA and the costs of buying from each organisation.

7 Attitudes – produce a sentence to show your understanding of each of these.
