Commander-in-Chief February 19, 1942 Allows local military commanders to designate “military areas” as “exclusive zones” from which “any or all persons may be excluded.” All people of Japanese ancestry are excluded from Pacific coast unless in internment camp

4 Manzanar Located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada in California’s Owens Valley. 6,200 acres of land made up Manzanar. Over 110,000 Japanese American people lived here.
