1.1 - The General Education Indicators sheet
Checking that the GEI sheet was fully filled in:
2011 data was provided;
Age school population;
The number of students in private and public schools;
The number of private and public schools.
N.B: Numbers should be provided in thousands.

It is necessary to check the DCF sheets, each of them is divided into two sections:
- Box A includes the National Standard Information
- Box B includes Information for Each Observations

Characterized by the construction of Special Private Education Average Price files, and special Quaranta tables.

2.1 THE QUARANTA TABLE
In order to be able to create a QT, special files had to be constructed:
Average price files, averaging the observations of the countries, after performing the intra-country price validation.
Complementary files (Population, Nominal expenditure and Exchange rate files), borrowed from the Annual HHC complementary files.

2.2. The Actual Validation
The Price Level Index (PLI):
It expresses the price level of a given country relative to another;
In the Private Education survey case, PLI is calculated for one BH;
During the initial data validation, focus is normally on correcting the extreme errors.

The Coefficient of Variation (CV)
Country CV: the higher the CV’s value the less uniform the country’s price levels will be, leading to less reliable PPPs.
N.B: In the case of Private Education survey, it is normal to have high CV since the 7 compared items can normally diverge in prices.
BH CV: the higher the CV’s value, the less homogeneous the price structures will be, resulting in less reliable PPPs.

Potential Sources of error
Price discrepancies can result of:
Data entry errors;
Difference in the item specifications;
The number of days that fall in the calendar year 2011.
