2. Project Instructions
In pairs, choose an objective from the next screen
Spend two lessons researching and preparing your response
Prepare to pass on your knowledge of your chosen objective to the class in a suitable form:
Lecture
poster
briefing notes
Lesson Three will be used for teaching/passing on the information
Each project must produce hard copy for uploading to the VLE

3. Module Objectives
describe the nature of X-rays, and describe in simple terms how X-rays are produced
describe how X-rays interact with matter (limited to photoelectric effect, Compton Effect and pair production)
describe the use of X-rays in imaging internal body structures including the use of image intensifiers and of contrast media
explain how soft tissues like the intestines can be imaged using barium meal;
describe the operation of a computerised axial tomography (CAT) scanner;
describe the advantages of a CAT scan compared with an X-ray image
