Mini–Retroperitoneoscopic Clampless Partial Nephrectomy for “Low-complexity” Renal Tumours (PADUA Score ≤8)  Francesco Porpiglia, Riccardo Bertolo, Daniele Amparore, Giovanni Cattaneo, Cristian Fiori  European Urology  Volume 66, Issue 4, Pages (October 2014) DOI: /j.eururo Copyright © 2014 European Association of Urology Terms and Conditions

2 Fig. 1 A 12-mm transverse incision is made 1cm just above the iliac crest, at the level of the Petit triangle. Two mini-ports are inserted under digital guidance at the level of the anterior and posterior axillary line. Then the third mini-port is placed at the level of the tip of the 12th rib. Finally, a 12-mm standard port is placed at the level of the first incision. The ports form a diamond shape. 4 Fig. 3 Visualisation of a renal mass after minimal incision of the perirenal fat with different modalities of image illumination and enhancement allowed by the SPIEs camera. (a) Clara; (b) Clara plus Chroma; (c) Spectra A; (d) Spectra B. European Urology  , DOI: ( /j.eururo ) Copyright © 2014 European Association of Urology Terms and Conditions

5 Fig. 4 (a) Renal parenchyma around the tumour is circumferentially demarcated by 3-mm monopolar scissors; (b, c) tumour is bluntly dissected by a 3-mm suction device along the pseudocapsule plane; (d) excision of the lesion is completed. 6 Fig. 5 (a) Visualisation of the resection bed after completed excision of the renal mass; (b) superselective coagulation by 3-mm bipolar forceps allowed by exchanging SPIEs camera optical filters for better magnification of capillary vessels emerging from the resection bed.
