2 Resettlement in the East
Himmler is in charge of resettlement. In Poland one million Poles are being evicted and replaced with German families. With the invasion of SU the plans are on the way to enslave the Slavic population and serve as slave labor to Germans. Slave labor in Germany-Why does Germany experience an acute labor shortage? of the forced labor for Nazi Germany A great organizer, he triples armament production despite air raids. Also, he served as minister of armaments He was the only one who accepted personal responsibility for Nazi atrocities He was given only 20 years in jail. Why such a mild punishment? A. They were a special commando.They were created by this man. Heydrich was a talented musician, fencer and absolutely devoted to the Fuehrer. He and Himmler were the architects of the final solution for the Jewish population, when it was decided that expulsion of Jews to Palestine would not be successful. R. Heydrich Heydrich was appointed as the protector of Bohemia and Moravia Hated for his brutal rule, oppression and crimes, he was assassinated in 1942 by British trained Czech paratroopers. Heydrich was the only high ranking officer killed in occupied Europe.

6 The town of Lidice (north west fromPrague) was obliterated
all the men executed and women and children taken to the concentration camps where most of them parished. Auschwitz in Poland becomes the centre of extermination of European Jews.

8 Children of War It is estimated that 1,2 million Jewish children
died as the result of Holocaust. In Germany many camps were set up to protect children from aerial bombing in the cities. Similar thing occurred in Britain. At the end of the war there were around 13 million children w/o parents.

“Asia for the Asiatics” Burma, Dutch East Indies, Vietnam and the Philippines. Japan soon loses any support due to its harsh treatment of local population and arrogance and contempt for local customs. Koreans sent to Japan to work.
