Short term exposure can effect the lungs, the eyes, and even increase susceptibility to allergens
Long term exposure can reduce lung function.

6. Environmental effects
Ozone affects sensitive vegetation and ecosystems, including forests, parks, wildlife refuges and wilderness areas. In particular, ozone harms sensitive vegetation during the growing season.

7. Prevention/reduction techniques
EPA’s national and regional rules to reduce emissions of pollutants that form ground level ozone will help state and local governments meet the Agency’s national air quality standards.
