2 Overview of the department
Faculty Chair: Sudeep Sarkar 34 faculty members (25 tenure track, 9 instructors) Students About 900 undergraduate and 300 graduate students Degrees Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Information Technology Research areas include Computer vision, robotics, artificial intelligence, VLSI design, graphics and visualization, user interfaces, networks, distributed systems, security, databases, data mining, and others KJC002

3 Our senior project Senior project is the capstone course for Computer Engineering students The capstone course must be completed after all other required courses for the major Integrates the knowledge gained from those classes. Students must design and build something useful and significant KJC003

Technical Slightly open-ended Project scope: 2 to 4 students to complete within 3 months Not on the “critical path” for industry Not proprietary We need about 6 to 8 such projects for each semester Our seventeenth year! KJC005
