Wednesday, May 31st - Saturday, June 3rd

2 School Field Trip Eligibility
Be in compliance with the school's attendance policy No more than one failing grade in any class No more than one “U” in conduct No more than three referrals to the assistant principals Any suspensions will be subject to administrative review and approval.

3 Brief Itinerary Overview
Wednesday - May 31st 5:30 am - Westport Middle School 4:30 pm - Arrive in D.C. 5:45 - Twilight Tattoo - U.S. Army Band performance 8:30 - Iwo Jima & Marine Memorial 9:30 - Hotel

4 Thursday - June 1st 7:15 - Breakfast 8:30 - Group photo at White House 9:30 - Capitol Hill Visitor Center Tour 12:00 - Smithsonian's of Natural and American History 2:30 - Mt. Vernon tour 7:00 - Lincoln, Jefferson, Korean War and WWII Memorials

5 8:00 - Arlington National Cemetery -
Friday - June 2nd 7:00 am - Breakfast 8:00 - Arlington National Cemetery - Changing of the Guard, Kennedy gravesite 11:00 - FDR & MLK Memorials 12:00 - Lunch at Hard Rock - included 1:15 - Vietnam War Memorial 3:00 - National Holocaust Museum 5:00 - Game Show Mania with dinner and dance

6 Saturday - June 3rd 7:30 am - Breakfast 8:30 - Leave for Six Flags Great Adventure, New Jersey 12:00 - Arrive at Six Flags 5:30 - Depart for Westport, MA 10:30 - Arrive home at Westport Middle School

7 Cost to students Price - Between $500-$600 (Depends on # of students and soup sales) Pricing will be determined by room assignments Includes: transportation 3 nights accommodations 3 hot breakfasts 2 group meals (HR & PC) 1 Dinner/Dance/Game Show Security District Guides Escort Admission to Mt. Vernon, Capitol Tour, Twilight Tattoo, Six Flags

8 Bus Same gender seating May eat on bus
Remind students not to eat all the snacks on the way down! Must keep bus clean - trash bags

9 Hotel Springhill Suites - Centreville, VA

10 Money $100 - $150 per student Watch student spending
Discuss a budget with your child - Food & Souvenirs Watch student spending Will need money on the last day for bus driver tip, housekeeping and last meal

11 What To Bring?? 1 Luggage and 1 Carry On Snacks for bus rides and room
Money DVD’s for bus rides - must be approved Cell Phones/Chargers Comfortable shoes/clothing All clothing must follow school guidelines No short shorts (fingertip length), no skinny strap tank tops (2 finger width straps) We are representing Westport Community Schools at all times!

12 Phones Students need to carry their phones with them at all times.
If they do not have a phone, they are to buddy with someone that does. Groups/Chaperones will exchange phone numbers before trip. Appropriate phone use and conduct is expected at all times. Administration and/or chaperones can remove phones for inappropriate use Talk with your child about data usage

13 Medication Nurse will distribute all medication.
Needs to be in 5 days before trip - May 26th Inhalers are to be left with the students at all times. Please make sure they leave with their inhalers in the morning. Make sure your students have seen the nurse for their meds. Extra medication will be given to the nurse in the morning.

14 Hats No one is allowed off the bus without a hat.
This is our way of being recognized as a group. We only have a few extras!

15 Nights Arrive at hotel Distribute Room Keys Make sure all keys work
Students will be allowed to grab snacks and drinks from vending machines if they want. Doors will be taped every night Same gender floors - NO exceptions Security guards on all floors

16 Mornings Early mornings - get a good night's sleep
Students will be called ½ hours before departure. This allows time for students to bathe and EAT!! Students must be ready for bus departure.

17 Payments Due 1st Deposit - due November 4th - non-refundable $100
2nd Deposit is due January 13, 2017 Final payment is due March 17, 2017 This amount will depend on number of students going and room assignments

18 Fundraising Cookie/Soup fundraiser
All proceeds from Soup portion will go into your individual account Some students have almost completely paid for their trip with soup sales
