2 Earth’s Origins 4.6 billion years ago Earth was a planetesimal developing into a planetoid. The only gasses present were Hydrogen and Helium No magnetic field Meteorite bombardment continued for over 500 million years aided Earth’s growth.

3 Earth’s Origins Meteorites contained rock-forming elements (Mg, Si, Fe, Al, Ca, Na, Ni) non-condensable elements (H, He, O, C, Ne, N, S, Ar, P).
