3. Sized based indicators explored
L95 : 95thpercentile of the length-frequency distribution in survey catches (for some stocks may be also obtained from commercial data)
Cpuemega or SSBmega : abundance of mega spawners, either from survey data or from stock assessment data
Pmega : proportion of mega spawners
Pmat : proportion of mature individuals
Megaspawner – spawners greater than length of optimum yield

Data source will impact perception of SBI – survey, catch, stock assessment
Must use methods that reduce sensitivity to recruitment (young fish)
Challenge to determine reference points
Not a challenge to determine trends and limits based on past, prefer reference points based on conceptual understanding

SBI using absolute values are generally redundant to D3C2
Relationships between proportional SBI and D3C1 & D3C2 less clear

Evaluate indicators for assessing pressure, impact and recovery on the seafloor from bottom-contacting fishing.
