4 Greek Mythology Basis Combinations of beliefs, rituals, and observations from the Ancient Greeks. Ancient Greece was founded around Archaic Period which lasted from BC Greek culture lasted until the Romans overtook Greece, and later transformed the Greek’s religion into their own culture (around 146 BC)

5 Roman Mythology Basis Combination of beliefs, rituals and observations by the Ancient Romans Ancient Rome founded-April (according to legend) Romulus and Remus Lasted until Christianity completely replaced the native religions of the Roman Empire

6 God Differentiation Often have the same gods with different names
GREEK Gods and Goddesses are based on personality traits The Gods each had specific character traits that determined their actions The physical life was more important than the afterlife Creativity was solely important Gods had a beautiful appearance ROMAN Gods and Goddesses are named after objects Gods where not specifically characterized Mortals would always try to strive to gain afterlife Actions were more important than words Gods did not have a physical appearance
