Peter Thies, Ph.D., is a Senior Partner for Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting, a member of the Firm’s Board & CEO Services Practice, and also the Industry Leader for Financial Services located in the Firm’s New York office. Mr. Thies has over twenty years’ experience helping global companies implement strategic and organizational changes. He has worked with a broad array of clients, including CEOs and senior executives of Fortune 500 companies, professional service firms, leaders in the non- profit sector, and a range of industries including financial services, consumer products, retail, energy, airlines, and telecommunications. Mr. Thies has helped clients integrate acquisitions on a global scale, create stronger executive teams, design and execute seamless succession plans, create performance-driven organizational cultures, and increase executives’ personal effectiveness. Prior to joining Korn/Ferry, Mr. Thies founded Equinox Organizational Consulting, an organization and leadership development firm. Earlier, Mr. Thies was a partner at Mercer Delta (now Oliver Wyman), where he held several leadership positions in the areas of consulting practice management, client relationship management, and change management consulting. Before embarking on his consulting career, Mr. Thies was an adjunct professor in organizational behavior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lally School of Management. Mr. Thies has published numerous articles in business journals and books on organizational change. These include a feature article on CEO transition in Directors & Boards and articles on culture change in The Handbook of Organizational Culture and Climate and the Business Horizons journal. Mr. Thies earned his doctorate and master’s of business degrees in organizational behavior from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
