In Warwickshire, 6 villages were deserted by 1400, 90 had disappeared by 1485 and 24 more after that date.
Although the rich were affected less directly by the plague, they lost a lot of money as a result. With half the population dead, the poor could now ask for more money to do the same jobs they always had.

The feudal system collapsed. Peasants could leave their village to find work’ land and freedom elsewhere.
Wages increased by 400% after the disease. Workers could demand more as fewer of them were alive.
