She was a militant activist who fought for women’s suffrage in Britain.
Jailed 9 times
Force fed 49 times
She stepped in front of King George V’s horse at the Epsom Derby on June 4th, 1913
She died as a result of her wounds
Funeral was organised by WSPU- thousands of suffragettes lined the streets of London
