Children’s reading habits in Britain Last year the Bookworm Book Club asked British children about their reading habits at home. All the children were between the ages of 8-16 and three quarters of them were members of the Bookworm Book Club. Half of the children in the study enjoy reading but a tenth do not. Fewer older children read than younger children. A third of the children in the study read everyday and a quarter read 10 books or more each month. A fifth of the children never go to a bookshop and about 10% never go to the libraries.
