2 Digestive System Takes in food Breaks down food
Removes undigested food mouth, esophagus, stomach, L. intestine, S. intestine, rectum, anus Calorie - energy of food

3 Circulatory System Moves materials around the body
RBC, WBC, platelets, plasma, veins, arteries, heart, capillaries

4 Respiratory System Takes in Oxygen Removes Carbon Dioxide
lungs, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli

5 Respiratory and Circulatory
The Respiratory System works with the circulatory system to maintain homeostasis. The Respiratory System brings in oxygen which transports throughout the body via the Circulatory System. The Circulatory System picks up Carbon Dioxide from the body and brings it to the lungs for removal from the body

6 Skeletal System Provides structure Provides support
Provides attachment area for muscles Provides protection

7 Muscular System Provides movement There are three types:
1. Skeletal -skeleton muscle 2. Smooth -intestinal muscle, veins 3. Cardiac -heart muscle

8 Excretory System Removes cellular wastes skin, lungs, kidney

9 Reproductive System Produces male and female gametes
Male gamete - sperm Female gamete - egg fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, penis, vagina

10 Nervous System Controls and coordinates all activities with electrical and chemical messages Neuron, dendrite, axon, cell body, sensory, CNS, PNS

11 Endocrine System Controls and coordinates the body with chemical messengers called hormones hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid, ovaries, testis

12 Immune System system of defense against foreign invaders
