3 Iceberg Method Coined by Ernest Hemingway when he described his writing style as using “the principle of the iceberg.” He would give readers concise stories, using few words, leaving the reader to infer the dramatic events.

4 The Six Word Story FOR SALE: BABY SHOES, NEVER WORN.

5 Your Task Use the iceberg principle to write a postcard story on an index card. Your story should fit on a single side of the index card. Create an illustration on the opposite side of the card that relates to your postcard story’s narrative.
