2. Order Does Matter!!!!!

3. All numbers within grouping symbols (parentheses in 6th grade) must be dealt with first.
All exponents are done next.
All multiplication or division is done in the order it comes in the equation. If multiplication is first it is done first, but if division comes first it must be done first.
All addition and subtraction is done next in order from left to right.

4. Remember!!!
Order in math does matter! If you do not follow the order of operations you will not get the right answer.
You must remember to do all multiplication or division BEFORE all addition or subtraction UNLESS it is within grouping symbols which always come first.
